Message: Dear Prayer Warriors!
This weekend, the Archdiocese of San Antonio is having a marriage preparation retreat. Many of those who are coming on the retreat are ignorant of the Church’s beautiful vision for love and life, especially regarding the Truth about their sexuality. Pray that their hearts and minds are open to the Truth and that they will experience a deep and lasting metanoia. In addition, pray for the team who is leading them, as the Evil One does not want this to be fruitful. Pray that we are united in vision and heart, willing what is best for the couples. Any prayers or sacrifices that you can make are eternally grateful.
Please let me know if you have any prayer intentions.
In the Heart of Our Mother,

Message: You are a part of it all. To all our over 1100 pray-ers, suffering souls, those who fast, pray, donate and support this ministry of prayer for the whole world, Thank you for your continuous prayers and support. Thank you for the donations, all your prayer requests are being prayed for and Divine Mercy Votive Candles have been lit for their intentions. A time of grace and mercy as we celebrate God's goodness and mercy as He continuous to pour down on all of us and for those we prayed, during our World Day of the Sick 3rd Annual Divine Mercy Healing Mass. 250-300 people came and many more were spiritually there with us as we celebrated Mass, anointed the sick, prayed for all our requests, and then venerated our 1st class relic of Divine Mercy. Thanks again for all around the world. It was a holy and grace filled time as we could feel the mercy of God being poured out to all. See photos above To where shall it lead us? We have now entered Lent. Here is a Article from the Vatican information services which talks of Pope Benedict's homily on Lent. Lent: Crossing The Desert, Abandoning Ourselves To God VATICAN CITY, 18 FEB 2010
Yesterday, Ash Wednesday, Benedict XVI presided over the traditional penitential procession from the church of St. Anselm on the Aventine Hill to the Basilica of Santa Sabina where he celebrated Mass. The Pope received ashes from Cardinal Jozef Tomko, Titular of the basilica and then distributed ashes to the cardinals and bishops present as well as to various faithful. In his homily, the Pope stressed that the "absolute certainty" of God's love sustained Christ during the forty days he spent in the Judean desert. "That long time of silence and fasting for him was a complete abandonment to the Father and to His plan of love. Going into the desert meant voluntarily exposing himself to the enemy's attacks, to temptation" and "entering into battle with him on the open field, defying him without any weapon other than his infinite trust in the Father's omnipotent love". "Adam was expelled from the earthly paradise, the symbol of communion with God", the pontiff said. "Now, in order to return to that communion and thus to eternal life we must pass through the desert, the test of faith. Not alone but with Jesus who proceeds us and who has already conquered in the fight against the spirit of evil. This is the meaning of Lent, the liturgical time that, each year, invites us to renew our decision to follow Christ on the path of humility in order to participate in his victory over sin and death". It is from this perspective that we understand the penitential sign of the ashes, the Holy Father explained. "Essentially, they are a gesture of humility that means: I recognize myself for what I am, a fragile creature made of earth and destined to return to the earth, but also made in the image of God and destined to return to Him. Dust, yes, but dust that is loved and shaped by His love capable of recognizing His voice and responding to Him; free and thus also capable of disobeying, of giving in to the temptation of pride and self- sufficiency". "Sin", Benedict XVI stated, "basically consists in disobeying God, in a lack of love. The first act of justice is recognizing one's own iniquity rooted at the heart of each person. An expression of penitence is only worthy in God's eyes if it is the sign of a sincerely repentant heart. The true reward is not the admiration of others but friendship with God and the grace that derives from Him, the grace that gives peace and the strength to do good". "In Christ's heart, at the center of His human and divine person, the entire drama of freedom was wagered in decisive and definitive terms. God brought His plan of salvation to its ultimate consequences, remaining faithful in His love even at the expense of delivering His only Son to death. Thanks to Christ's action we can enter in to the "greater" justice, which is the justice of love". "Lent enlarges our horizon, orients us toward eternal life it makes us to understand the relativity of earthly goods and thus enables us to make the necessary renunciations, frees us to do good", the Holy Father concluded.
And now lent prepares us for the Glory of Easter and the Fruits of Easter "Divine Mercy Sunday" Don't Miss IT Below are the requirements for Divine Mercy Sunday. Everyone needs to take advantage and receive the forgiveness and graces from Divine Mercy Sunday. Once again, a time for graces and mercy and drawing closer to God. On Good Friday April 2 starts our Public Divine Mercy Novena. All the prayer requests that were sent for the Healing Mass will be included in our requests as we pray the Divine Mercy Novena. Send all new requests so that we may pray for them ; Send to others so they may know about their access to God's great fount of mercy. Tell your priests, and if they need more info, let me know, we will be glad to help if you wish to promote it more in your parish. Now we continue to prepare ourselves for Easter and the fruits of Easter which is Divine Mercy Sunday. As mentioned before we will have our public Novena starting Good Friday. I encourage all to join in our Novena wherever you are. www.ewtn.com/devotionals/mercy/novena.htm The Lord told me to say this chaplet for nine days before the Feast of Mercy. It is to begin on Good Friday. By this novena, I will grant every possible grace to souls. (Diary 796) So let us ask for much and pray for His ocean of mercy. Have a good lent, go to confession, do works of mercy, prepare for Easter and Divine Mercy Sunday. Together in union with our Lord's sufferings we can repair a hurting world and help bring souls back to our most merciful Lord. Have a holy and Happy Easter and Divine Mercy Sunday. Let us pray. In His mercy, Jay Hastings PJ7772@msn.com 901-438-7772 Divine Mercy Prayer Recorder: 901-574-9797 www.chapletofdivinemercy24hr.com Here are the requirements for Divine Mercy Sunday: Requirements for Divine Mercy Sunday Yes, the first Sunday after Easter is the Feast of Mercy, but there must also be acts of mercy. . I demand from you deeds of mercy, which are to arise out of love for Me. You are to show mercy to your neighbors always and everywhere. You must not shrink from this or try to excuse or absolve yourself from it (DIARY 742).
Thus, to fittingly observe the Feast of Mercy, we should: 1. Celebrate the Feast on the Sunday after Easter; 2. Sincerely repent of all our sins; 3. Place our complete trust in Jesus; 4. Go to Confession, preferably before that Sunday;( anytime during Lent thru Divine Mercy Sunday will meet this requirement) 5. Receive Holy Communion on the day of the Feast; 6. Venerate the Image of The Divine Mercy; 7. Be merciful to others, through our actions, words, and prayers on their behalf.
To venerate a sacred image or statue simply means to perform some act or make some gesture of deep religious respect toward it because of the person whom it represents - in this case, our Most Merciful Savior. Jesus asked that the Feast of the Divine Mercy be preceded by a Novena to the Divine Mercy which would begin on Good Friday. He gave St. Faustina an intention to pray for on each day of the Novena, saving for the last day the most difficult intention of all, the lukewarm and indifferent of whom He said: "These souls cause Me more suffering than any others; it was from such souls that My soul felt the most revulsion in the Garden of Olives. It was on their account that I said: 'My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass Me by.' The last hope of salvation for them is to flee to My Mercy." In her diary, St. Faustina wrote that Jesus told her: "On each day of the novena you will bring to My heart a different group of souls and you will immerse them in this ocean of My mercy ... On each day you will beg My Father, on the strength of My passion, for the graces for these souls." The traditional enumeration of the corporal works of mercy is as follows: To feed the hungry; To give drink to the thirsty; To clothe the naked; To harbour the harbourless; To visit the sick; To ransom the captive; To bury the dead. The spiritual works of mercy are: To instruct the ignorant; To counsel the doubtful; To admonish sinners; To bear wrongs patiently; To forgive offences willingly; To comfort the afflicted; To pray for the living and the dead. If you know someone that is sick or dying, or is in need of God's mercy, please send their name along to us. [ALL of the incoming prayers are being prayed for] Send your Prayer Requests for the upcoming Divine Mercy Novena. If you wish to have a Votive Candle lit during the Novena, please designate it on your prayer requests. Suggested Donation $5 If anyone wants us to pray for them with our 1st Class relic of St Faustina before the Blessed Sacrament, contact me so we may do so. (They do not have to be present, we can have someone hold the relic for them.)

Message: Urgent Prayer Request--Dominican sisters in Iraq
From: Angelo H Camacho To: rpnarrin@aol.com Sent: Thu, Feb 25, 2010 12:33 pm Subject: URGENT PRAYER REQUEST Just got this tragic news from our Dominican sisters in Iraq... prayers, please Fr. Camacho
Dear Brothers,
Please read the following e-mail sent by Sr Donna Markham, O.P., the Prioress of the Adrian Dominicans, about our Dominican Sisters in Iraq and the entire Christian community in Mosul:
Dear Sisters, This evening I have received very tragic news about the situation in Iraq. I have just returned from being with the 5 Iraqi sisters who are with us in Adrian. Today, all the Christians have fled from Mosul.
There have been murders and rapes of Christians there and for now they are fleeing to the Christian villages. Sister Maria is very frightened about the safety of the sisters and the Christian people. As of now,the five elderly sisters who have been holding down the Motherhouse are choosing to remain there because they do not want to lose their Motherhouse to the terrorists. She said most Christians are making plans to evacuate from Iraq and, as a consequence, she does not know what will happen with her Congregation. She said they will follow the Christian people where they go, but where that will be is uncertain. The sisters' families remain in grave danger and, as you can imagine, the young ones with us and with Springfield are terrified. As of now, nothing is being reported in the US press. She asks if any of us know people in Washington whom we could contact and tell the story, to please do so. Most importantly, she asks for our prayers. Love, Sr. Donna
Please keep this situation in your prayers, and, as Sr. Donna asks, if anyone has any contacts in DC who could bring this to the press or to Congress, please consider doing so.
Fraternally, Fr Brian Mulcahy, O.P. Socius
